Pramono Ensures Jakarta Provincial Government Continues to Improve RDF Plant

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said that Jakarta Provincial Government keeps improving Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant waste management facility in Rorotan, North Jakarta.

He has also asked the RDF Plant management to invite local residents to observe the repair process before commissioning. Commissioning is a testing and inspection process carried out to ensure that systems and equipment are functioning according to specifications.

"Repairs are being finalized. I was actually there last week. I've asked the operator to invite residents to the operational. Improvements are already underway," he said, Friday (9/12).

He explained that the construction of the RDF Plant in Rorotan has the good intention of addressing the capital's waste problem. Although the RDF Plant currently fails to satisfy everyone, Pramono emphasized that it is the responsibility of the Jakarta Provincial Government to continue making improvements.

Pramono targets the commissioning process to be carried out on September 18, 2025. However, he reiterated the need to invite residents around the RDF Plant to observe the repair process being carried out.

"The actual target was this September. Commissioning could begin on September 18th," Pramono added.

Pramono stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government has installed various indicator devices, including odor detectors to ensure that this facility will not disturb the comfort of local residents.
